Collaborate! Collaborate! Collaborate!

communicateThere are so many awesome professionals out there who just want to help you and your family.  Be sure to get everyone on your team talking and communicating with each other.  You and your child will reap all of the benefits from this collaboration.

It is so important for teachers to know about your challenges and triumphs.  Of course, you also benefit from knowing what is going on in school.  If your child’s teacher doesn’t have time to catch up with you, ask for notes to be sent home.  Create a communication notebook so that you can stay up to date on your child’s daily life.  Make every effort to get your team together for lunch or coffee.  This team includes your family members, speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, after-school activities instructors, tutor, school-teacher, etc.  Collaboration is one of the keys to your child’s success.

How do you collaborate with your team?  Please share with us below this tip.
