Meltdowns and Tantrums in the Classroom?

29892298_mDiscuss how long an activity will take before it occurs.

As you may have heard, executive functioning skills can be challenging for your students.  Your students may not understand how long a task is going to take to complete.  You may see meltdowns and tantrums in your class when your students feel overwhelmed during in-seat activities; this may simply be due to the student thinking that he will have to sit there ALL day!  So, help him out.  Set a timer, use a visual schedule, map out exactly what needs to be completed, and show him what he can do when he is finished with the task.  Setting your students up for success will create a happier child and a happier you!
